Four Lane Highway
There have been some interesting posts and discussions over at Steve Gobles site Swords Against Boredom about the band we were in when we were much younger; Four Lane Highway. Steve has been posting videos of the songs we used to play and some fun discussions have started.
Steve was our bass player, Deven has joined in the discussion, he was the led vocalist and I was our drummer. Doug and Larry have not joined in (both guitar players) but I am betting they will soon. This 4LaneHwy is not us … we never played anywhere near Wisconsin.
We took our name from the Pure Prairie League album “Two Lane Highway“. Doug (the artist of the group) even created a logo for us based on the album title logo. Notice on the Wikipedia page, the origin of PPL is “Wavery Ohio” .. this is where we all grew up and went to High School, hence the tribute.

You are right John I have joined the discussion over on Steve’s site. it has brought back some great memories that is for sure. Can’t wait to see what he posts next. I hope a reunion is in the future for us all that would be so cool.

I agree Larry. I am betting its up to me to get back up North for a FLH reunion. I am planning on getting back into Drumming as soon as I can. Took to much time off, but I am feeling the itch bad.
I am going to shoot for later this year. In the mean time we should come up with a potential play list so I can practice and not look like a total idiot ..

Clark has a set in his basement, and we might be able to persuade him to let us use it. He might want to jam some with us, too!

Steve’s stroll down FLH memory lane sure has me recalling things I haven’t thought of for years.
We had the last get together at my parents, not the old farmhouse on Clines Chapel, but the newer place they built up Markham Rd, back by the pond. I am sure we can set up there again.
As for a set list, we should do that. We should list a few that we always played, and then each pick a tune, or something like that.
I have been trying to teach myself to play guitar better, I even dug out the Peavey T-15.

I am sure the play list would include, LA City, Cindy, Four Lane Highway, We’re an American Band, Peacefull Easy Feelin to name a few. Might even toss in Roch n Roll Fever as well. I am sure there will be plenty of others we will attemp and hack up but that was always the fun of it playing all these songs and putting our twist to it. Might even play a few Marshall Tucker songs as well. Just a small list to start with.
